St Louis Skyline

The St Louis Skyline remains one of the most distinctive in the world with the Gateway Arch symbolizing its unique history.  Before Lewis and Clark launched from nearby shores in 1803, the land was occupied by the French and the Spanish, and before them, an unknown Native American people who built the largest pre-Columbian civilization north of Mexico City.  At one time, St Louis was our nation’s fourth largest city and hosted the World’s Fair and the 1904 Olympics.  This view was captured from the Compton Hill Water Tower.
