Caesar Creek State Park Twilight

A winter sunset over Caesar Creek State Park (Waynesville, Warren County, OH) where the magical qualities of twilight transitioned to the night sky forming this peaceful waterscape.  I titled this image “Caesar Creek Crescendo” highlighting the many aspects which contributed to this scene of solitude.  This image captures the moment where the sun continues below the horizon rendering the lake surface with darker tones, while the cirrus and altostratus clouds catch colorful light from their still lit altitudes.  For me, it’s as if an orchestra director asked each natural process to peak at this moment producing colors and contrast…the crescendo, before quickly yielding to the oncoming darkness.  Yes, I created the stacked cairn for the scene, but as to not spoil the view for others, I returned the shoreline rocks to their original state before hiking into the night.
Peaceful twilight where calm waters of Caesar Creek reflects the colorful pink clouds as stacked rock cairn stands along the shorelineCaesar Creek CrescendoThis late winter sunset over Caesar Creek State Park (Waynesville, Warren County, OH) took on magical qualities with the approach of twilight. As the sun passed deeper below the horizon, the lake surface took on darker tones, while the cirrus and altostratus clouds refracted various colors from their still lit altitudes. The images captured moments before and after this shot reveal how briefly the contrasting colors achieve crescendo before quickly yielding to the night sky. The stacked rocked added to the solitude, but as to not spoil the view for others, the rocks were returned to their original location.
