A golden hour view from Dead Horse Point, while visiting Dead Horse State Park on a summer evening near Moab Utah. As a geology major, I appreciated the meander view of the Colorado River carving down through the sedimentary layers…and thus time. 200 million years ago, this area alternated between shallow oceans, extinct deserts, freshwater lakes and floodplains. Although buried eons ago, the Colorado River once again exposes these Jurassic environments. On this evening, the sun’s warm light rakes across the land infinite lands revealing this timeless view.
