Caesar Creek Crescendo

This late winter sunset over Caesar Creek State Park (Waynesville, Warren County, OH) took on magical qualities with the approach of twilight. As the sun passed deeper below the horizon, the lake surface took on darker tones, while the cirrus and altostratus clouds refracted various colors from their still lit altitudes. The images captured moments before and after this shot reveal how briefly the contrasting colors achieve crescendo before quickly yielding to the night sky. The stacked rocked added to the solitude, but as to not spoil the view for others, the rocks were returned to their original location.
