The Story:      Residents of Kettering Ohio enjoy many parks such as Lincoln Civic Park Commons as captured here. The City of Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department thoughtfully intermixes its disciplines such as placing commissioned sculptures in various open spaces within its parks. On this summer day, Kettering Ohio’s Memorial for 9-11 resides on the corner of Lincoln Park and Ackerman Boulevard. “Memorial for 9/11” was created by John Van Alstine who incorporated a thoughtful sundial where on solar noon shadow every 11 September aligns with the sculpture’s stylus. The surrounding Seitz Plaza owes its existence to Seitz Family and Kettering Community Foundation.
