Religious Architecture Art Prints

These galleries contain a series of religious artifact art prints.  I’m always intrigued by the elaborate architecture of chapels and churches.  It's really fun capturing them under interesting skies.  There are many pieces of public art in the form of religious sculptures.  Finally, I also love the way light passes through stained glass windows. 

Church and Chapel Photography Prints

I didn’t start out solely capturing churches and chapels as a specific subject, but as my portfolio grew, my tendencies became apparent.  My favored churches started with visiting the US. Air Force Cadet Chapel, then the University of Dayton Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, and the historic Dayton Veterans Administration Chapel. 

Religious Sculpture Art Prints

Though churches are usually filled with these artifacts, I prefer working outdoors.  In addition to the intricate sculpture, capturing them under interesting skies can add to their inherent beauty.  I found my favored subjects are angels and Virgin Mary.  My favored sculptures are The Angel of Death Victorious by Herman Matzen and the Resurrection Angels in New Baden, Illinois. 

Stain Glass Window Artwork

This set of stained glass windows reflects how artisans have crafted timeless scenes while incorporating light.  A few are in churches, while others reside in public buildings like the Greene County Ohio Courthouse, St Louis Union Station, and the Tiffany windows at the mausoleum at Dayton’s Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum.
