Within Piqua’s Veterans’ Memorial Park resides this memorial dedicated to Airman First Class William Pitsenbarger. He served in the US Air Force as a pararescueman. He was killed in the Vietnam War aiding and defending a unit of soldiers pinned down by the enemy. Our nation awarded him the Medal of Honor and Piqua remembers him as one of theirs.
