President Warren Harding Memorial No. 1
The Story: Ohio served as home to many presidents including our 29th, Warren G. Harding, and first lady Florence Kling Harding. Following his 1923 death while in office, the Harding Memorial Association procured land adjacent to Marion Cemetery, in Marion Ohio. The memorial is a circular Greek temple employing Doric Order columns. Also in the style of some Greek temples, the memorial does not have a roof thus meeting the Hardings’ request they are buried outside. In this image, fall colors started their arrival giving the scene colorful accents.
