St Louis has hosted builders and architects for two millennia, thus offers ancient architectural features such as the “Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site” which holds the metropolitan area’s UNESCO World Heritage site. Many Tourist enjoy more modern art and architecture at the St Louis Art Museum, or Forest Park and its Nathan Frank Bandstand, Pagoda Lake, Art Hill, Jewel Box, Grand Basin, riffles and other aspects of America’s best city park. In addition to these architectural wonders lie many state parks and lakes such as Horseshoe Lake, Rend Lake, Carlyle Lake and Lake of the Ozarks many formed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Of course, the whole city is influenced by the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers which offers its own intriguing vistas and bridges such as Stan Musial Bridge, Chain of Rocks Bridge and Clark Bridge.
